Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is a crucial element to growth hacking. You want to make sure that you are getting the best results from the traffic that comes to your website.

You need to optimize your site so that as many visitors as possible are buying your product, signing up for your email newsletter or meeting the other marketing objectives you have set.

Luckily, there is a wide range of CRO tools available to make the task easier. However, with so many different CRO tools on the market, choosing which is best for your needs can be a little challenging.

Here is a selection of some of the most popular CRO tools currently available.

A/Bingo

A/Bingo is a Ruby on Rails plugin which enables A/B testing. A/Bingo stands out from many of the other A/B testing solutions because it is free and open source.

It’s also pretty straightforward to use and only requires one line of code in order to measure events or test behavioral or display differences. Despite some very useful testing capabilities, A/Bingo has a minimal effect on your website loading speed.

Google Analytics Content Experiments

Google content experiments allow you to test different variations of a landing page to see which version achieves the best metrics.

This could including providing an email address or making a purchase. Google content experiments allow you to test as many as five different versions of the landing page.

Some cool features of Google content experiments include the ability to select what percentage of visitors will be included in your optimization experiment and the option to receive email updates about how your experiment is proceeding.

Webpage Test

Loading speed is critical for keeping people on your web page. If a page loads too slowly, visitors will often navigate away before seeing the content.

Webpagetest is a free tool which allows you to perform website speed tests that simulate multiple locations around the world, using different types of browsers and at normal consumer connection speeds.

Web page test also has more advanced options that allow you to perform testing on video capture, multi-step transactions and other options.

When you perform a test, you will be provided with a detailed report about your site along with advice on how to improve it.

Optimizely

Optimizely is a website optimization software that allows users to conduct A/B testing, multi-page and multivariate testing.

One of the big benefits of using Optimizely is that you only need to place a single line of HTML code onto your site to gain full access to the software’s testing capabilities.

Optimizely also has a wide range of tracking options, including clicks, conversions and sign-ups. Tracking can be managed through the easy-to-use dashboard, and you can add multiple user accounts, which is great for businesses.

Unbounce

Unbounce is a combination landing page builder and testing tool. Unbounce uses a drag-and-drop interface so that you don’t need to know how to write any code in order to produce your landing pages.

Once you have designed your landing page, you can create variations for A/B testing. Based on the data, you can decide which landing page you want to run with.

Qubit

Qubit is an optimization platform that is specifically designed for eCommerce sites. Qubit offers a number of interesting tools, including website personalization and A/B testing.

The website personalization allows you to optimize your site according to what stage the visitor is at in the customer life cycle. Essentially, this means that new visitors can be provided with different content and offers than repeat buyers.

The A/B testing allows you to verify whether the changes you have made to your site during personalization were the right decisions.

Clicky

Clicky is a real time analytics tool that is similar to Google Analytics. Clicky has a number of features that website owners will find useful, including the ability to see every visitor to your website, and the actions that they take while they are there.

However, from an optimization perspective, the heat maps feature is the most useful. This can show you exactly where visitors are clicking on your site. You can also view heat maps only for those visitors who completed a specific goal. So, for example, you could check what users who purchased your product clicked on before buying.

These conversion rate optimization tools are by no means the only ones. The market is rapidly evolving, with new CRO tools being introduced all the time. No matter which solution you choose, the most important step is that you stop guessing and start testing.
